Three Things Thursday, Dumb Treadmill Edition

One.  I've done the past two runs on my treadmill, and may I say that while I LOVE having that option, it simply bores the crap out of me.  I can watch something awesome and it doesn't even matter.  Seeing myself not "going" anywhere just bums me out.  Of course, I'm getting it done before the kids get up, and it feels good to get that energy out early.  Knowing that it's 8am and I've already worked out is pretty fabulous.  And it seems to get me through the lack of caffeine much better when I work out first thing.  So I suggest, if you have time, get those workouts in before you do anything else for the day!  Have a quick breakfast (health bar, piece of fruit and bagel, etc), get on your workout of choice, and feel awesome for the day.  It'll boost your metabolism and give you fantastic energy.  In fact, I have more energy on days that I wake up early and run than on days which I just sleep in with the kids.  So though the treadmill is dumb, it's a necessary evil and best when "enjoyed" in the morning.

Two.  We're finally getting a camera!  And a nice one, at that!  I think I may have to restart my Flickr Pro account for this.  And I'll for sure be able to take some good pictures of the workouts that I want to share with you guys finally.  The camera comes today, and I've given over the car to hubby in anticipation of waiting by the door all day for it.  Tomorrow I'll have to take the kids to the local park preserve so I can play with it.  I'm crazy stoked!

Three.  This is super duper exciting--I started a fundraising page with Benefits of Giving and Endure to Cure!  Benefits of Giving is a fantastic group of athletes that wants to "Raise more than just a sweat" and bring in donations for certain fantastic charities via runners and their specific races.  Endure to Cure is a group of athletes (pro and mostly not pro) who raise money for pediatric cancer research and patients.  I have linked my personal donation page here and it will also stay at the top of my righthand bar, and I encourage any of you interested to donate a few bucks if you have it.  I'll be running my first marathon in honor of these children, and I have a feeling I'll be a sappy crybaby when thinking of their sweet faces along my run.  My page will be available until the end of the year, but I'll mention it more as the race comes closer.  Help me to help these kids get the support they need!

That's it for my Thursday update.  I'll be spending much of my time today hiding from the cold, researching awesome houses in Charlotte, and reading Star Wars books with the kids.  Oh, and playing with our NEW camera!

  1. Thank you for coming by my blog! At times I would like a treadmill, but I have found that I get so bored as well. But, at least you have that option!!!! Love that you are raising $$ for pediatric cancer. :)
