Here's the kiddo, modeling her new Tough Chik gear! She's over the moon about it. She obviously has style, as this was her "running ballet" outfit for the day. She then had me take a series of photos with her doing Taekwondo punches and ballet spins. I love her spunk.
This is my new "workout partner" that we found on our jogger run yesterday. It's a 12lb rock that the kids have named "Big Guy". Big Guy will come with me a lot this summer for strength runs, a la Margaret Schlachter. I'll eventually upgrade to heavier, but I think this is a good start. It was pretty fun putting it in the bottom of my already 90lb jogger and hauling it my last 3 miles yesterday. And I got the best look EVER from a runner who had just finished and saw me putting the jogger away. As I pulled the big ass rock out of the basin, his eyes widened and confusion set in. Priceless.
Here are my new shoes after yesterday's run. They don't look so new anymore! The kids found a puddle of frogs and little fish beneath the boardwalk, and being the great mom that I am, I decided to try to recover a frog for them to look at for a moment. Unfortunately the mud was much deeper than I realized, because my leap from the boardwalk just ended in my sinking and scaring all of the wildlife away. But we all had a good laugh over it, and it was, ahem, interesting, trying to find a way out. Let's just say that recalling Tough Mudder obstacles helped me out.
So now I'm off to run with the jogger again, putting a few treadmill miles in first so the kids don't flip out from extended sitting. Let's hope we have as many fun obstacles today as we did yesterday (though I'm not sure my shoes can stand it)!
Totally give you credit for the rock!! I could not even stand to run with our double jogger, let alone adding more weight to it. Way to go!
ReplyDeletePoor shoes! They got the bad end of the deal with the outdoor adventure you guys had. I think that's a great idea putting a rock in the bottom of the stroller.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing sooo great!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am still fighting with putting on milage.... I guess it's getting harder when you get older... LOL
