2. My birthday is tomorrow! I don't think we're doing anything too exciting, I mostly just want to hang out and relax with my sweet family. Hubby is driving home from GA as I type this, and we'll have three full days of him at home. If the weather is awesome, I hope to go out to a local greenway and hike a bit with them, apparently get a surprise lunch from my daughter (her whispering isn't as soft as she thinks it is!), and maybe even do a last-minute 5k tomorrow evening. I've always wanted to just show up and register for a race without preparing, hehe. Saturday I'm doing a trail 8k that raises money for NC midwives, which I think is super awesome. More hiking may ensue. Sunday, hubby wants to take the kids fishing. I think this may be my long run time, as I'm not a big fisher unless lots of beer is involved.
3. My marathon is sooooooooon. I'm getting super nervous, and the taper is scaring the crap out of me. In my crazy brain, it seems wrong to do less miles for so long before a big race. But I know that's how it works, and I'm going with it. I've been upping the strength training a tiny bit though, just because I can feel the calories just sticking with me and it's making me insane. I've also upped my speed, which makes me feel strong and will be very helpful when I slow down on race day. Trust my training, trust my training! I can do this!!!!
So yeah, that's it. Oh, and my hair is now black and super short. I'm random like that. Happy Thursday!!
