Three Things Thursday, mixing it up

1.  I'm thinking of my parent/kiddo workout ideas, and I think I'll need to wear my babycarrier for most exercises.  So....I guess I should probably do a post on good vs bad babycarriers, huh?  I don't even know if most of my readers do use/have used them, so I don't know how well this will go over.  But shoot, it'll give me a good excuse to blabble about how awesome it is to snuggle kiddos for even longer, so I'm game.  I hope you guys are too!
3.5 years ago in Mainz, Germany.  This was her favorite place to be!

2.  I've also thought about another random post, and would love your opinion.  Hubby and I have spent a ton of time in the past few years perfecting the art of uniquely showcasing (and often just hiding) veggies in everyday foods to get the kids eating healthier.  I'm wondering if I should do a future blog post on some of our fun findings?  It's not fitness, but it IS family health.  But then again, I'm not sure if you want to take child health tips from someone who's son may have eaten an entire handful of dirt while stuffing his face with fresh basil yesterday.....but at least it has nutrients, right???  So, you guys interested?
Snacking healthily at a nature museum!

3.  I've began my quest to stop drinking sodas.  I'm on day three.  My brain is becoming slightly hazy, so there's a strong possibility that everything I wrote above this is completely ridiculous.  But dammit, I'm doing it!  In the mornings I add a shot of espresso to my chocolate protein shake (makes it suuuuper delish!), and in the afternoon I make an iced coffee.  I don't add any sugar, just use almond coconut milk and it sweetens it all enough.  So I'd call that a win.  I'll  have a soda without a refill if I go out for a meal, but my plan is to not buy any more for the house.  If I want to instill healthy family habits, it starts with ME!
Sealed, yet empty.  This should've been my sign last year!

So there we go.  Do you guys like the ideas above?  They stray from the original, but I don't really consider my blog perfected yet (or ever!) anyway.  I always talk about the randomness of my life, I guess I can add in a bit more randomness here too, huh?

  3. I just love to hear from you, so I'm honestly down for any of the above. We are just feeding Scarlett veggies, so It would be helpful to have a heads up on how to keep her eating them :) Also, I'd be interested in the kid-centric exercises and learning more about carriers. Right now we have a baby bjorn, which i know is a no-no, but she doesn't really like the Moby we have... maybe I'm just not tying it right? Whatever you do, just keep writing.... makes me feel like we're hanging out for a minute :)

    1. I'd say that Scarlett is actually getting to be too heavy for the Moby about now. Since it's stretchy, it's really only good in the beginning. I'll have some good stuff for you soon. :)

  4. I think you've got some good ideas! Also how about a post on life after a marathon, or training after a marathon (or did I miss that already?)

    1. I haven't talked about life after training, probably because it's so anticlimactic. But...that's probably something people should know, huh? The slump hits all of us! I'll post soon, thanks!

  5. Baby carriers, yes! Love to wear my baby, but she's getting so independent, she complains now. Veggie hiding, yes! Always need good tips. No sodas, yes! I've been really good about this for quite some time, only having about one diet coke a week, but as long as I feel like I'm not alone, maybe I can stick with it. I WILL NOT give up my coffee though. Any topics that relate to a healthy lifestyle, I'm game!

    1. Awesome, I have someone to detox from soda with! I also won't give up my coffee. No how, no way. I'll keep tabs on my efforts on the blog. :) And yes, the independence makes wearing tougher, but they'll still enjoy it off and on for years--no worries. ;)
